Loy Krathong 2007

"Loy Krathong" is an important festival in Thailand which dates back centuries. Beautifully decorated small rafts are launched into water, river, pond or sea. At the same time it's an opportunity for females to dress up in intricate costumes. It's really a big spectacle in Pattaya, attracting foreign and local tourists. Thousands of people strolling up and down "Walking Street", it's party time for the whole family.

Bull Race 2007 - Chonburi

This year's bull race, the 146th anniversary, took again place in front of the City Hall in Chonburi on 24-Oct-07

Like everywhere else in Thailand visitors were welcome by lovely smiles.

It was a true spectacle for the crowd, but everybody had to find shelter from the scorching midday heat.

The water buffaloes were brought in from all over Thailand to take part in this competition.

Even though protected from the sun under shelters they had to be frequently refreshed with splashes of water.

The owners are taking well care of their animals.

The winner crossing the finishing line. Truly amazing with what kind of ease the jockeys are handling their 'beasts'.

Jockeys and animals are marked by numbers.

Another winner finishing a race.

A rare sight, among all the black buffaloes, an albino.
