These days 'The Avenue' Shopping Center on 2nd Road stages every Friday at 19:00 an 'International Muay Thai Gala' featuring Thai fighters from Cha Choeng Sao and some international fighters. The event draws a crowd of several hundred spectators enjoying the sporting event.
'Muay Thai', aka 'Thai Boxing' or 'Kick Boxing', allows beside the fists also the use of shins, knees and elbows. That's why it is also referred to as 'The Art of Eight Limbs'. Similar forms of fighting are popular in other parts of Asia as well.
